I did a 10% water change on saturday because I had the unfortunate experience of my skimmer pump failing and me not realizing it for 3 days.
(don't ask.)
Anyway, I had a green algae outbreak that coated the front glass, and I spent the better part of sunday scrubbing the algae off with a scraper.
Anyway, I went ahead and did a 10% water change to remove some of the debris from my scraping, and to lower the nitrate impact of all the dying algae in the tank.
I check my params today and I noticed my KH is down to 8 from a usual 11 - 12. PH has remained the same at about 8.1
I don't currently supplement anything.
Will the Carbonate Hardness come back up on it's own or is this a biproduct of the water change and do I need to supplement to bring it back up ?
Thanks
