Karim's 1500gal conservatory (sunroom) reef

Not really because you have specific desires for your tank. You've thought through all of it and to simplify in one place is going to decrease at least one aspect of the functionality you personally want. You should get a hold of Daryl Richardson (who I heard was a little crazy) who owns the Dallas World Aquarium to see who designed it or Bill Wann who built a house around his 20,000 gallon tank. Have you talked to Bill or heard of him? https://www.aquariumeng.com/aboutI'm a small animal veterinarian (actually in Frisco) so if any thing gets sick, give me a call. But as far as your tank it's like asking advice on a jet fighter from a guy who repairs bicycles. My 350 gallon tank is very under-engineered.

I haven't but if there's anyone in Dallas, maybe we can get together to go over ideas? I just think it's better to discuss than to design in a vacuum :)

I don't know of anyone in the DFW area that would be more technical than yourself. Bill Wann was/is a mechanical engineer. https://www.facebook.com/people/Bill-Wann/100000347589990 on R2R he's "pigpen" https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/the-ins-and-outs-of-my-20-000-gallon-reef-tank.198868/ His first company dealt with upgrading/fixing medical diagnostic equipment. He decided he wanted to build a huge tank so literally designed and built it himself. Found out a lot of equipment wasn't up to his standard so he started fabricating his own aquarium equipment skimmers/reactors and started Aquarium Engineering as a side project. If there is anyone who can help you think of something you haven't already thought of, I think he's your guy.
