It's heeeerrrrrrrreeeeeee..... - My new 150gal setup

[Pictures of the new tank setup.

Ok...

Well, it's finished. It's 9:42 and it's finally finished. And.... the refugium didn't make the cut. I, ultimately, was worried that I wasn't knowledgeable enough about sea life to make that huge jump from berlin to refugium. Yet, anyway.

So, for the new 150G I settled on a custom berlin sump, with ETS Evolution skimmer, about 1/2-2" of live sand (NOT the 6" I had in the other tank), and about 200 lbs of live rock. We still have another 150lbs or so to add... but can not move them until the corals, etc. can be moved as well to the new tank. I'm going to let this one cycle first, and be a bit more patient than I have been re: the tank in the Garage.

Thanks again to those who gave input and advice on my issues with the garage tank. Strange happenings there, but it is probably my being too over anxious.

Of note, and not revealed in the pictures, is that my MH setup is approximately 6" off the water, and through the plexiglass cross braces makes the water shimmer unlike ANYTHING I've ever seen.
Even the guy whose been at this for 20 years was blown away at the shimmering. Don't know why this combo/distance is doing this, but it looks just like you are under water about 2' depth, in bright sunlight in summer. Just magnificent.

I hope the critters like it, too ;)

Look at the pics, and please, comment/rave/bash away!

Much thanks in advance.

[It looks pretty good from what I can tell. To steal an often used quote, remember, the only thing that happenes fast in a reef tank is disaster. Your rock structure seems to be very precarious, but that might just be the pics. I like to live kinda dangerouw when it comes to my rock structure too, but be careful.

Take it slow... :lookaround:]

[I like it. Everything is shiny and new.... :wwww:]

[The above note about the rocks may be right.... it looks cool, though! I have pieces of pvc pipe buried in my sand, one end on the glass "floor" and the other end holds up the rocks in various places. Of course, my reason is that I have an engineer goby (8" long and growing) that moves my sand around at an amazing rate. So, just a note - if you get ANYTHING that moves sand, be sure those rocks are not moveable!]
