Is this a bad idea?

I have a good size Yellow Tang. I would like to put a in a purple tang. If this Purple Tang is half the size of the yellow tang would there be much of a problem? I have always read not to put tangs with the same shape in the tank or at least put them in at the same time... Any thoghts? (This is all hypothetical, I do not own a Purpel tang)

Both of those are aggressive tangs. Its usually a good rule of thumb to make a purple tang the last fish you add, because of its temperment.

(Yes, there are exceptions to every rule, but...) Good rule of thumb is to not add more than 1 Tang of any kind where the 1st part of the scientific name is the same (I.E. Zebrasoma)...
