Is one Vortech enuf for a 90RR

Do you think one Vortech would be sufficient for my 90RR? I've read where folks are using 2 on their 180's, so though I'd ask what the opinion of the group is on using a single pump....

TIA

I have one on my 55 and find I need to dial it down to less than 50% so I think it will be plenty for that size tank.

i have one in my 60 cube...i have it at its lowest setting till i get to remove the sand and go bb which is on my to do list

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on ordering one and the battery backup this coming week. Just wanted make sure that this would fill my need for moving water around the tank, and not have to supplement it with additional pumps.

So, I can make the purchase and strike "powerheads" off my list of things I need for my tank build....

Thanks again!!

:)

The VorTech is rated up to 3,000 GPH, so if you had it in your 90 at full throttle, that's 33.33 GPH. That's plenty of flow IF you're able to run it that high without messing with the sand bed too much (if you're using one and not BB). In a BB setup, you shouldn't have any problems once you find a good place to stick the thing.

Thanks Kevin! I'll be sure to back it off. And I'm planning on a DSB.

Good info all, I really appreciate the help. This is my second attempt at a reef tank (last one was over 10 years back), and want to give myself a chance to do it right this time, and get the right stuff, and take my time.....

:)

I have one on my 120 that I run wide open. I also have a Seio 1500 on the other side on the back pointing toward the front of the tank. I was thinking about replacing the Seio with a Coralia. You should be fine with it on a 90.
