Is Mighty Putty the same thing as HoldFast?

You guys have seen the commercials. That stick they sell looks the exact same as Instant Oceans HoldFast! Any thoughts?

i asked about it a while back, seemed there was actually someone who had tried it with no ill effects. i changed my mind and wanted the gray stuff so i just ordered from marine depot

I have used something called waterweld from walmart with no ill effects. It looks just like that also. Also, when its mixed it is grey...not green.
 
I use the Aqua Mend from Home Depot and have with no back effects. But it's white when mixed and you have to wait for the coraline to grow on it, so if you mind that, the gray is a lot prettier.
