Is a nano fission protein skimmer big enough

I use a nano in my 10G when treat or quart. and it works OK on that. I would not use one taht small on a 29. I am using a CPR on my 29 and it works OK.

I use the Sapphire Aquatics skimmer that is made for the Biocubes. It works pretty well once you get it dialed in. Also it is nice since it fits in the second chamber out of sight.

you may want to check out euro-reef's new nano skimmer that is scheduled to come out by year end..it is supposed to be under $100 and has a foot print of 2x4x9.

I use a Tunze 9002 on my BioCube 29. Works fabulous! You will have to make a couple of mods to the overflow to accommodate the cup but it's minor and simple.

I think the main consideration and what it all comes down to is if you are still using the stock top of the biocube. If you are then go Sapphire, if not then the Remora, Bakpak, or Tunze would be a good choice.

I was able to get the stock top on with the Tunze...

really? did you cut of the back lip for it to fit? did you have to break out the bottom of chamber 2? said:
The back lip was cut back a bit and I did remove the bottom of chamber 2. Now that I am running the tank topless with a MH pendant over it I put the bottom back in chamber 2. It goes in and out easily. There are quite a few references to the modification over on nano-reef.com.
