Iodine Dip

I have a large colony of zoas I bought from someone who had the lights off for 4 days. I've had them in my tank for almost a week and some seem like they are trying to open, but just half-hearted, so I planned on a iodine dip. I usually use Lugol's but I'm out and the store only had Kent's concentrated iodine. For those who use Kent's to dip, how much to you usually use?

Tj,

Pretty sure the lugol's is more concentrated than the kent's product. A capful(5ml) in a gallon of water is the usual concentration you see for dipping. I haven't had any adverse effect with a capful in less water. :)

Cheers,

ty sir!

Zoas handle iodine well... in fact some suggest a few drops of lugols in the system to help their health. If you can see the colony or frag in the bottom, its not too strong for them to handle just don't leave them in for longer than 10-15 minutes.
