Introduction...and my new solana (update pics...10-7-08)

I have been cruising the forums here for a few weeks and I thought I would introduce myself.

I was a reefkeeper back in the early 90's but had to give it up for a while. I'm back in the saddle agian thanks to the wife falling in love with the new solana.

I had a 225 back then with all the bells and whistles but the smaller tanks really appeal to me. It's up now for about three weeks now and looking forward to stocking it.

Right now I have 31 lbs live rock and using a 20" coralife 96w 10000k pc till my sunpod 150 comes in. Should be in this week.

Looking forward to becoming a member of DFWMAS so you will be seeing me around.

I live in the Garland area so if any of you fragers out there have something of interest give me a shout. I'm shure you've seen cubes of glass, watter and rocks before but here's some picks just for grins...

That 225 is still in the garage if someone my be interested. Know what I mean.

howdy, and welcome! good start, those are nice tanks...how long has it been up? any clean up crew or antyhing yet? good luck! and you should join us at the meeting on the 14th in grapevine...

Hay Wood. Small world ain't it. All of this rock is from Tony I just picked up 9 more from him today to give it a bump. Nice to meet you here on the forums and in the shop. I forgot that I have a old 110 in the garage too so if you know of anyone that does horse trading drop me a line.

No afraid not, it's a grow out tank from the discus days It's a oceanic though and the back has been painted light blue. I did it in latex so it wold strip real clean. It's been in the back corner for 10 yrs and it should be leak tested but I'm shure its sound. I'd let it go for a song. I don't think there is any scratches we would have to pull it out and take a look. Make a "kickin" fuge for the 225.

tank looks good. I got one too. I am thinking of getting the sun pod light too. i have the globe 150 w right now. I get you some pics of my tank too.

I had some time on my hands so I thought I would give an update.

I did some mods on the tank and replaced the stock skimmer with a tunze 9002.
1/10th hp chiller driven by a eheim ecco in the sump which makes a closed loop sort of I guess you could say with about 25mL of arowaphos and a bit of GAC.
9 more pounds of LR bringing the total to 40.
Frags from here and there and a JBJ ATO.

All seems to be well so far, the corals seem to be growing as I must dose 4mL a day two part to keep up.

The camera we have is not that high end I hope they're clear enough.

Thanks Wes. I have been keeping an eye on the purple Digitata for a while now as it was a nasty brown when I got it. I don't know if that is a good indicator for conditions or not but the more it colors up the better everything else seems to respond. It's about 1/3 full coloration from the top down now. Don't know what to expect for a HQI only light system.

I'm itching to do a 48x24x24 or 36x24x24 T5 maybe this winter but I've not made up my mind.

Well it's been a couple of months so I thought I'd post the progress of the tank. Not to much to tell, things are rockin on well. I'm into the sixth week of dosing VSV at .02 Ml / day with BioDegest every fifteen days, one amp. Carbon has been offline now eight weeks but still using a bit of Roaphos in the reactor. I have a touch of green hair in the bottom right, doesn't get any better, doesn't get any worse. Go figure. :? .

Seems that the camera is a crap shoot with me, so I hope these turn out.

I think I have a good shot of doing a tech 120 over the winter. Cross your fingers!
