Injured hammer - is there anything I can do

I was moving an item and knocked a light loose which feel and seriously injured my green hammer. It broke from its frag Mount and seriously damaged all the branches. Is there anything I can do or need to do to help it or am I helpless to watch and see if it lives?

Did I understand correctly that a light fixture fell into the tank and hit your coral? Glad you are okay to still type this thread.

The coral will recover, I'd bet.
 
Yes, It was a sealed LED fixture, so no harm to either the light or myself with the water, but it devastated the hammer. It does look like it may survive - realizing that it has only been a few hours, but time will tell. It's back at the top with plenty of light so I hope it can heal.
 
Move it to a lower flow, lower light area and give it time. Those things are tough. I've had them buried in the sand by my stupid wrasses, and come back from just a tiny spot of flesh left. As long as there is the slightest bit of tissue there is hope.
 
Well, all I can say is wow! It has only been two days and this afternoon or opened up quite fully and revealed minimal damage. I had no idea they could retract as much as it did. Here's a photo from today
