Injured finger coral - need help

[My finger coral got a little to happy with its surroundings and extended itself to the point of rubbing itself against a hard coral. It appears it has been stung and one of the three branches' fingers are turning black. Will the coral repair itself? Do I need to frag the damaged part? Or should I cut that entire branch at the base, anticipating the injury spreading to the entire piece?]

[I would cut the affected part off and wait a see how it responds. If it continues to deteriorate, I would cut a healthy piece off and attach it elsewhere it would be less likely to get stung.]
