Im sure my fish is ok but what happened?

Well my lights are about to turn on and i was lookin at my tank. I noticed that my lavender tang has a white patch under hiss mouth about a 1/4inch by 1/4inch What could of happened? Im gueesing that he was just agressively munchin on som algea on a rock or somethin... i hope it goes away.. any other ideas?

My former tank resident, a Hippo, would have those from time to time around his lower jaw, corners of the mouth and between his bottom lip and front fins. I always related it to stress because I was usually working on the tank late, or turning on lights around the tank to peer in, fix or find something etc and he would get all ticked off about it. Also if I had the lights out for awhile, either changing bulbs or power outages or just leaving the actinics on instead of normal lighting the same would happen.

Usually went away in a few hours.

Many fish, and all my Tangs, change their colors at night... My daughter says they're wearing their pajamas... :)

Once the lights came on, did the coloring switch back to normal?

Cocaine addiction is devastating- even to the fish community. Now we know the truth about where these tangs get all this energy from- Dori is finally exposed.

I think if you watch the French Version of Finding Nemo, you can clearly make out Dori is actually Singing "Just keep snorting, just keep snorting..."
