I bought a few corals from somebody and this was one of them that came in the pack. What's is it? Is it bad?

They are not a pest if that is what you mean. They do have a potent sting, but usually stay put. They are not invasive -- although it looks like you might have a baby :) I have one and it is placed about 4 inches off the bottom. Some say they will eat fish, so just a precaution to make sure my goby is safe. ... just in case.
 
If you don't end up keeping him let me know I would like to take him. I have one but heard they breed easier with multiples in the tank.
