I do not believe it Chaetomorpha, I guess it could be. But it certainly is some type of macro algae growing from excess nutrients in the tank. We all have some of one type or another. You can try and pick off as much you can and you can try to cut down on the excess nutrients in the system. If it is a type of macro that fish eat then a type of herbivore fish may eat it if you have one.

I had some similar algae in my tank when I started. Some kind of filamentous algae. Once my Coraline algae started to spread it choked it out.

do u think a black sailfin blenny would eat it? a few people said tangs would eat it, but my tank is too small for a tang. the only fish i have in the tank right now is a clown.

No he is not going to touch the stuff. If it is just some type of filamentous algae most likely no fish I know will eat it.

Looks like macro algae to me....i have seen it but forgot what its called. Just pull it out if you dont like it. Often times with macro it wont grow back after you pull it out...maybe have to do it a few times. It would also depned on your water quality. Can you get the rock or rocks out and scape it off? Ok just rechecked the pic, so doesnt look like you can take the rock out. Just pull it out....sometimes the simple ways work best. I would never add a fish in hopes that it would eat it anything in my tank. What works for some doesnt always work for others.
