ID Please

found this llittle guy when i turned a rock over. he is about 3/16 inch across and maybe just over 1/4 inch tall. he looks like a zoo crossed with an anemone.

baby rock anemone?

is he good or bad?

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks to have the similar shape to what I have in my tank. Has a clear to lightly tinted circular base, with the same color tentacles. i was thinking some kind of anem as well. the zoas seem to be ok with it, and it seems to only come out when the lights are out.

I believe this one is different from what you have because i have those too i believe they are orange ball anemone's (per marc's ID page) clear to red base with totally clear tentacles with a tiny ball at the end of each. almost impossible to see because they are so clear.

this one is white in the bottom then kind of a light brown in the center with the white outside and on the "tentacles" but the tantacles have dark brown bands on them too.

Cup corals and ball anemones are similar in appearance tentacle-wise, but the cup coral forms a hard little skeleton, whereas a ball anemone is completely soft.

Rob, if you can get a better picture, it may help.
