Ick or not? - Any ick experts?

[My convict tang scratches itself on the bottom every now and then. I saw him do it about two weeks ago and thought it might the beginning of ick. I never saw it on its fins before or after that.
He still scratches sometimes. He also has a spot on the side of him where my goby bites him when he gets too close. Could this be irritating him?
My goby does scratch on the bottom too...but i've only seen him do it a couple of times in the last two weeks.
Could i have ick or would it have become a lot worse by now if i had it?]

[I have a yellow tang that's in qt right now. It's very hard to tell if they have ich or not. The white spots are really hard to see on there skin. He has been in qt for a month and i have been medicating him and recently stopped the meds and he's still scratching on the pvc tubes in the tank.]

The best time to look for the cysts on them is in the morning after the lights come on. What are you using to medicate your Tang? Hypo and copper are the only tried and true methods for removal.]"]
[I'm using both methods. I also have a uv sterlizer on the qt tank. I just moved my coral beauty back to the big tank and she's doing great. Ich is really a hard one. I let my tank sit with only corals for almost 2 months. My clowns and copperbanded butterfly are looking ok after adding them to the display as well.]

[Thanks for the feedback...but if it is ick, why hasn't it got any worse in the two or three weeks since i saw the tang scratching the first time? And I haven't seen any white spots on the fins, gills or skin. maybe i should be cautious and go ahead and quarantine.]

[I'm sure that the ich will be really hard to see on a convict and like someone said try looking in the morning when the lights turn on. Just a thought...my clowns will rub their bellies in the sand every once in a while just to move things around. Could it be that instead?]

FYI, Clownfish do that, either to have a place to rest & hang out, or to nest, or to get sand away from the spot they like. This should not be misconstrued to be due to itching like with velvet ich.]
