icecap ballast

I have the model 660-009 which is fully dimmable. How do I get it to dim? Do I just hook a dimmer switch to the power? And what is the 4 pin plug for I do not see any info for this.

Hi,

You may want to contact icecap on this, looks like they recommend limiting max dimming time to two hrs so just adding a dimmer may not be recommended or approved by Icecap. There are several controllers available that utilize the dimming option. Take a look at these links, they have good info if nothing else. http://www.premiumaquatics.com/thestore/prods/ICECAST.html ,

that's where the dimmer/controler hooks to, cost another $150 or so and then you have to add these metal things to your bulbs so they will run at lower levels, a real pain and probably why no one uses that feature, kinda like a white elephant.
