I Need a Pump

Ok, I am so lost on return pumps. I called Euro Reef to ask how much water the RS100 needed to sit in and they mentioned that too much flow through the skimmer is no good for my skimmer and that I need 300 gph running through for it to skim effectively.

But I need to consider if the overflow can handle 300 gph right? I just want to buy a pump already! I just need direction to the right pump.

I'd either want to get a Mag Drive or Eheim

What kind of overflow do you have? Chances are it will be fine, most of them can handle up to around 750GPH (give or take). I would recommend the Eheim over the Mag Drive as they can give off excess heat and have restart problems more often than others. You want to size your return pump to be 3x or 5x the volume in your system.

On a 100g tank with a single overflow I would think a Mag 9.5 would be fine if you wanted a Mag.
