I lost two corals from Frag Swap

And I'm sure it is something I did.

I purchased 4 sps and Marc gave me a leather coral.

I have never dipped new coral before introduction before, and I was afraid that I might be pushing my luck. So I dipped all of my purchases in 7 drops of Lugols in 1L of RO.

After dipping them, I had no idea how to acclimate them to the tank, so I just put them in.

I had t o leave for the day and just got back to find the pink birds next and purple acro both bleached out.

The green milli, other "thing" and the coral all look great.

So, what went wrong?

So basically my manner of dipping and acclimation couldn't have been more off the mark.

Looking to buy Pink Birdsnest frag and Purple sps. *sigh*

the easy way that i use, that has been fine, is the lugols in my own salt water after drip acclimating them for an hour...normally leaves a lot of water that works for adding the lugols to...i have done it your way before because i read to do it that way but i also lost a coral, so i no longer use RO. Leave the corals in the tank that look 'dead' as i have had a dead 'looking' coral come back...sorry to hear for your loss, good luck with the survivors!
