I gotta nano

I picked up the 24g aquapod. I got it home cleaned the glass and dumped the sand. The rocks are dark red and I am thinking about scrubbing them. What do you think? I also broke the lid clips and am in need of help finding replacements. I don't like the filtration - no skimmer no fuge only some porcelin rings and a sponge. What should I do to make this better or is it ok? This is very differant from my 100g and I want to do it right so I will be leaning on this group for help. Thanks

most people ditch the rings for live rock. I'm also pretty sure I've heard of people ditching the sponge, but I don't know what they put in its place if anything.

here's what I did to mine..... I peeled off the vynil on the back of two of the chamberson the first i trew some LR rubble, and added caulerpa on the second I put two sponges..... the trick here is that you have to be whashing the sponges every week to keep bacteria off them.... the reason I cut the vinyl in the back was to put a light for the macro!! it was an inexpensve fluorenst light..... So far so good.. I have no algae whatsoever

I have pulled out the rings and the sponge. I put some rubble rock in the chamber. I am thinking about cutting the vinyl to install a light. Is it hard to cut the vinyl and make it look good. I will be adding a bag of nitrate sponge where chamber one enters chamber two.

As far as changing the pump and installing a maxi jet would it be better to just add a pump and leave the slow pump for the miny fuge?

Thanks for your help,

No, I took it down. I was having a hard time trying to make it do what I wanted it to. It is in my closet now. I wanted it for the office not thinking that a 24 was as big as it is. I should probably sell it. Its doing me no good in the closet.
