Well this sucks. I purchased some LEDs and drivers/power supply from Steve so I could replace my 150MH frag light. I glued 7 leds to a heat sink, wired them up and installed the driver and power supply. The power supply was only putting out 18.4v max with the knob turned all the way up. I tried to adjust it and wound up breaking the knob off. That was the start of my failure.
I hooked the driver to my main power supply that runs my main tank arrays and they lit up but not brightly. I tried to adjust the knob to turn them up but the knob did nothing. There must have been a short somewhere because I fried the single driver. After re-soldering all the LEDs again to ensure a good connection, i attached my back up driver. Well now the leds didn't work at all. I i bypassed a couple of the leds and found out I had burned up two of them. Then the driver popped and it's fried.
I'm done with this project. I just fried up $70 worth of LED materials....and my time.
I'm going to buy a par 38.
end rant.
