I can't seem to get my lighting right

You would think with four tanks currently and 5 years of trying different lighting I could get one tank with lighting that I liked. The closest I have gotten to my liking is a 4x24w T5HO fixture with 2 ATI Blue Plus, ATI Coral Plus, UV Red Sun.

I just got done replacing that fixture with a 2x150w HQI (Ushio 14,000k), 4x54w T5HO with 2 ATI Blue Plus and two Actinic bulbs. The colors are just not there.

On one of my twin 58g's (Tank 2) I have two 175w Ushio 14,000k and 2 Blue VHO. Never liked the color.
Other 58g (Tank 1) 2x36w ATI Blue Plus and a 30w strip light. Color is OK, not great, but not enough light intensity.

I have to replace all of Tank 2's light bulbs and need suggestions. Please help.
 
What color are you wanting you might want to switch the metal halides to a 20k. And run maybe Fiji purple and ATI blue plus.

You could do dimable leds.
That way you could adjust the color to your liking.
Plus you don't have to replace bulbs for a long time.
 
I have given thought to both the 20,000k MH and the multicolored dimmable LED's.

Since I have to do this in a hurry now, my corals are starting to decline, I think I will try the MH on Tank 2 and the LED's for Tank 1.

Is there a particular brand that I should be choosing?
 
If you ever in flower mound I can show you what I run radium 20k with 4 different t5's (ge 6500, kz Fiji purple, ati blue plus and ati coral plus)

I really like the color it is a 14k look

I got mine from reefgeek might pm kron I think I gave him a ge 6500 36" bulb when I sold him all my 36" bulbs. If you want to try one out. It's a bulb not alot of people like

I got some used ones from you and after I got through with them I could not find any more. I really like them! I think they grow coral very well! I am making do with some 10000k bulbs right now, but I would rather have 2 of the GE. Thanks!

I agree I like the ge bulb alot of par and cheap but the color of the bulb is an acquired taste :)

Well, when you run 2 of them with 4 blue plus, and 16 royal blue LEDs - I have the Epistars - I think you will like the color. I do!

OK, I ordered both the 20,000k Metal Halides for Tank 2 and an LED fixture for Tank 1.
