Greetings all,
My name is Rob, and I hail from Saginaw Texas. Lets see, I am 28 married and have a few rugrats. I have been a fan of FW/SW for some time, and recently I have landed my self a older 75g tank. Stand. and hood for free, the tank holds water and after a few repairs ( fixing bottom trim on aquarium and general cleaning with water) it is ready to go.
I have been a study of marine aquariums for almost the past 4 months now and generally think I have a good grasp of what I need to do, thanks to sites like Reef Central and a book "The New Marine Aquarium" by Michael Paletta.
I would have to say that with out a doubt the most important thing I learned is patience for this hobby, and I am in a situation that patience, like it or not is something that I will have to learn/endure building this thing on a Shoe String budget.
So here is where I am so far.
Probably this weekend I will be bringing the tank in the house from the garage and from there I will be buying a bit at time with key features ( Sand. Rock etc) being last on the list.
Generally I am a pretty handy person, and my next build is putting together a 30gallan sump, and getting the plumbing going. It is gonna have to be trial and error for me as I really have not seen a real legit working example and obviously pictures really do not do it for me in most aspects....
So yeah .. Here I am great board you guys got here, and hope to learn from locals as much as I can in my new journey !!
