How to eliminate FW Snails?

I know this isn't a reef question, but there seems to be some current and former freshwater people, so I thought maybe someone would know. We did not buy any snails, one must have come in on a plant we bought. Now we have a bunch of them. Is there something that will eat them or is there way to eliminate them? We have a huge pleco that does a great job with algae. We don't want these snails. Any ideas? Thanks.

if you're tank is sufficiently large enough, you could go with a school of clown loaches, but just like plecos, they will get huge. if you can't do that, run some hot water over lettuce, tie it to a ball of cotton or something similar, and then drop it into the tank for the night. by morning, you should see that it is covered by snails, just trash it and repeat if necessary.

It's a 75 that's very lightly stocked. So I could pretty easily add a very more fish. Thanks for the information. It's my son's tank. I rarely feed the tank, but I happened to see it this evening after my son fed it, and the snails were all over the place. I'll look in the loaches. Thanks!

Skunk loaches are great snail eaters and they stay small. I used to feed mine snails as a treat.
