How to cut acrylic - Need to modify diy overflow

[I need the enlarge the gaps between the teeth on a DIY overflow I got from another member. It doesn't let water through the teeth fast enough. I have another overflow on the other tank that has wider gaps and wanted to make this one the same but I have never worked with acrylic before. I don't have a router. What should I use to widen the spaces?]

[If you own a dremel tool, you can widen them that way. Or you can drill a hole with a wider round bit at the base of each tooth. It will look like a keyhole (an upside-down keyhole) but will work fine.]

[dremels are the best tools for cutting acrylic. But if you have no dremel i would suggest possibly a hacksaw blade. I've also used my drill, and was just really careful. hope this helps,

[Great thanks for the tips. I have access to one of the dremels from the fragging workshop. I will try that and if is not powerfull enough and will try a drill and/or hacksaw.]
