How to cure uncured live rock

I have a 50lb box of live rock that is coming in from LAX, I ordered it through liverockusa.com

I have heard of a lot of ways to cure the rock, but it seems like everybody has there own way of doing it.

If anyone has a link to a website on curing rock please let me know.

I plan on getting off all the old sponges, and plants.
I plan on using a 15g rubbermate tub with a bak-pak skimmer and 1 maxijet 1200 pump for circulation. For about 3 weeks

I have only heard good things about liverockusa.com
They told me that when the rocks get to LAX, the boxes aren't opened and are sent on the next plane to Dallas Tx at the local airport where I live.
I am worried that my ammonia level might spike and kill all the good live stuff on the rock.
Please help me if you can.

When I bought my rock from them I was going to clean the rocks real good. After an hour and not making a dent in it I just put the rocks in the tank. The ammonia got to 8++++ for over 2 weeks and I do not feel that I have lost anything that was on the rock. It did take almost 6 weeks to cycle my tank though. You can do lost of big water changes but if your rock is anything likt mine you will only save maybe a week or 2 on your cycle. Post some pics of your rock when it gets in. What did you get?

It sounds like you are on the right track already.

Agressive skimming, high water flow and wait until your Nitrites are 0 and it's done.

I would also suggest large weekly water changes and little or no light while curing. Due to the extremely high bio-load that occurs during the curing process from the normal die-off, you will only cause nuisance algae to grow if you use lights during curing. It's also helpful to keep the tub open enough so you can siphon detritus out during water changes.
