How to clean filter socks?

Hey guys,

I have read multiple discussion about how people clean their filter socks. I am currently rinsing the socks immediately after removing to get the large particles out and all the loose stuff. I then soak in a hot water mix with an unmeasured amount of H2O2 for around 3-4 hrs. Next I do the same thing with bleach but use the washing machine. Lastly, I soak them in a prime/hot water bucket over night...in the morning, I place them in the sun to air dry.

Anyone do anything different or better?

Thanks,
JD

My wife used to wash mine - I don't use them any more - in the washing machine using soda ash, or baking soda - we have both - and vinegar. No need to soak in Prime doing it this way. She does the washing so I don't know how much she put in there. I would think in a small load a half cup soda and maybe 2 cups vinegar.

Interesting...so small load (with water) and throw in some baking soda and vinegar? or are you talking about only using vinegar/baking soda?

I wash mine in hot cycle only nothing added and hang dry

Although I would occasionally do a weak bleach soak on them first. [smilie=smile.gif]

I would rinse, sock in hydrogen peroxide and water mix over night and then rinse. And last toss it in the dishwasher with no cleaners.

Thanks guys, I will prob cut down to soaking in H2O2 then a hot cycle with small amount of bleach then air dry. I appreciate all the responses
