How long does it take for BTA's to heal after...

....splitting? In the pictures section I posted a pic of my BTA splitting, now I have two and niether one looks normal yet. I know it just went through an ordeal with splitting itself but how long should I expect them to look like crap? The original one stayed in the same place it was and the "clone" moved onto the substrate and isnt really attached to anything. Should I move him or let it take its course? Any healing food tips?

Oh, tank params are as follows:

SG - 1.025 (yes, I like to keep it a little high)
Amm- 0 ppm
Trates - 5.0 ppm
PH - 8.3
Calcium - 400
Temp - steady 79-80*

I dose every 4 days with Strontium and once a week a very small amount of iodine.

When my BTA spilt it took a little over a week to heal under good conditions. I didn't feed the BTA until its mouth fully healed.

Let us know how it goes

Good Luck

My RBTA split was eating after about a week and a half. (I didn't feed it until I saw that the new mouth was completely closed over.)

My GBTA splits took a while longer to see that they both had complete mouths- about 2 weeks.

My recent little tiny GBTA split still hasn't completely formed a new mouth, but it's also kind of shaded by the much bigger parent anemone. So I'd say it depends.

If it's getting good lighting, isn't expelling it's zooxanethellae and is still sticky, I'd leave it alone.

Well, its getting good lighting, doesnt seem to be expelling zooanthelae (still bright green in color - both of them) but they both look terrible, much like they are melting away on the torn edge. The tips are thin and short and they are both sliming a bit. To the touch neither one are sticky :( Hopefully they make it, my clown loved his new home soooo much:(
