how do i save my red lobo??

its skeleton is showing around the edges of 3 of its 7 heads. i recently moved it onto a flat rock bc my diamond goby sure does like to sift the sand and drop it all over the lobo. any reccomendations? i feed dt's, zooplankton, prime reef, and super brine (not all at once of course). it was solid red when i got it 6 weeks ago and has started to turn red with lavender around center. ive read that this is not uncommon to change color when put in different tank. does it need to be placed horizontally in tank or can i lean it on the rocks so it sits kinda vertical? my magnesium and calcium were a bit low a few weeks ago but i have since fixed that problem. any help to my situation would be much appreciated!!! its quite a large beautiful piece and i would hate to lose it.

1) Place it in an area that will not irritate it with sand

2) Ensure that you have appropriate water chemistry parameters.

3) You should have at least T5 bulbs for appropriate lighting. THe lights and water chemistry dictate the color.

Definitely get it away from the sand. Speaking from personal experience, they do not like sand at all. I had a large female GBM clown that got into the habit of using her tail to fan the sand, blowing it up into the water column. I lost an awesome green lobo and almost lost a nice red one due to this.
