High Range Mg test Kit

Is there a high range test kit for magnesium? I'm fighting a bryopsis nightmare and my Salifert Mg test only goes to 1500. I need to raise the magnesium level above 1500 but I want to make sure I know where I'm at. Thanks! Candace

With the salifert test kit you can fill the syringe a second time and add the results of the 2 together

Empty first syringe into the test water for the first 1500 ppm then refill the syringe and continue until the test water changes color, read the scale on the second syringe get the reading from the chart and add the second value to the 1500 for your total reading

Pete - you're so smart! I hated to buy another brand test kit as they are expensive and I really like the Salifert. I'm also looking for a GFO reactor - do you have any recommendations? Thinking about "Precision Marine" and "Next Reef". Thanks - Candace

both of those reactors are great products but for the money it's hard to beat a TLF 150 for about $40

on my old 300g I ran 3; two for carbon and one for GFO
the GFO I only filled about 25% so it doesnt take much of GFO so a large reactor is probably an over kill

if you want a larger reactor and don't mind doing some fabrication work (no cutting just some sanding and gluing) to save some money consider the Avastmarine kits

I do like the Nextreef blue acrylic as it probably helps prevent algea and coraline from growing inside the reactor

I think I'll get the Next Reef reactor as the kit includes both the pump and tubing. The price on the TLF is good, but I don't have an extra pump laying around. Thanks for your quick responses! Candace
