Help with setting up Nitrate reactor

I've got some reactors laying around and am going to put good use to one for help keep my nitrates in check. Currently my drop test is showing my nitrates consistently between 20-40 however my LFS guy did a test strip and shows them barely at 5???

Please take a look at the picture below and let me know which one would be best to use. Also, if someone can tell me the brand of them as well, that would be good so I can pull up some online instructions on installing them. Also, will I need anything else to set it up with?

thanks!!

The easiest and cheapest nitrate reactor is one that supports anearobic bacteria. You just need media (surface area, typically a rock based media) and a very very slow flow.

Other alternates:

Bio pellets that would require a mod to recirc and low throughput flow.

A modified anearobic that incorporates a long tube leading up to the media (can be coiled inside) providing time for aerobic bacteria to consume tank water O2 prior to reaching the anerobic area in the media.

A sulfer reactor; this also requires a recirc mod with slow throughput flow but two layers of media (sulfer and a pH buffer)
