Tunze has a new one I've been thinking about trying out. May order it the next time I place an order with Marine Depot.

I have the flipper and don't like it. I could never get it to clean the coraline algae off the glass.

That's a savings of $83 (not--Bad ad/ no discount savings) [smilie=devil.gif])
This is actually discounted ... save almost $100 more at Amazon ... put this number ... B000N0C794 ... into the Amazon search bar.

Retail pricing on these depends on *size* for glass thickness:
$ 39.89 -- Power Magnet 220.54 -- Glass thicknesses: (3/8" to max. 5/8").
$139.84 -- Power Magnet 220.55 -- Glass thicknesses: (3/8" to max. 1 1/8").
$261.20 -- Power Magnet 220.56 -- Glass thicknesses: (1/2" to max. 1 1/2").
$560.04 -- Power Magnet 220.57 -- Glass thicknesses: (1 1/4 - 2").

I steer clear of false advertising on prices. Some are showing false/ inflated retail as original price, then mark it down to actual retail.

I have the flipper and would never use anything else, unless something can be made as effective for half the price. It took years for me to be ok with the flipper price point, but I will never go back.

It will glide through 6 month year old coraline algae like butter and get into the hardest to reach places without a hand going in the tank. I cannot recommend it more. Just wish it was cheaper.

I use the Easy Blade glued to an appropriately sized Mag Float for my glass thickness. I buy replacement blades from the LFS.

I use mag float with blade attachment as well. I have ordered the tunze care strong magnet at $77.00 i thought i would give it a try.

I have the "flipper" works pretty good , but recently got a mag float with the "scraper" attachment and find it does a little better job on coraline, and replacement blades are like $8 a 2 pack.

Finally got my tunze care strong magnet and loving it. It does not float and dropped it in sand couple of times. Used the magnet to grab it back towards the glass and it did not pick up a single spec of sand. Finally i can clean my glass without worrying about scratches.

Looking at the spec sheet of the Tunze magnets as well, they appear to use Neodymium Magnets. Which a single 1 inch square X .5 inch rectangle magnet is usually $20. So, if they're using 2 of these for their algae scraper. Not only is that enough force that i would be SERIOUSLY concerned about shattering glass if you ever let those things crash together from opposite sides, but you most definitely don't want to use it if you have a credit card or cell phone in your pocket. Let alone if you happen to be wearing a watch. Good news is, i could see something like that DEFINITELY not allowing algae to stay attached :)
