Help with id

[Hi all.
Was wondering if someone could help me identify something that I have growing in my tank.

I don't really know how to describe it other than it is a white puffy substance, and kind of resembles mucus of some kind.
First place I noticed it was growing around a piece of plate coraline I have on a rock. Then later today I also noticed that I have two "streaks" of it growing under some mushrooms. Here are a couple of very poor pictures. Sorry, these are the best I could do. I do not even remotely posses Marc's photography skills :)

[Well, after posting the pics, I decided to check the "substance" out a little further. I reached in the tank and tried to see if it would scrape off. It is not a mucus substance at all, but instead it is actually hard and course.

Could it be some sort of sponge?]

[I have this all over my rock and in most cases underneath where alot of light does not get to it. It seems like sponge and is pores. No need to worry it is not harmful to your reef. And nothing seems to eat it.]

[It is really hard to see, but I'm guessing it is a filter feeder.

Btw, I ordered some cool attachments for my camera. I'm determined to improve my skills, and lean on Travis for guidance.]
