Help! - Plate coral in trouble

[Yesterday I noticed that my short tentacle plate coral had a piece of tissue allowing the skeleton to be exposed. Today, the amount missing has more than doubled. I can't see anything covering the plate, what would eat away at it? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Matt]

[Probably nothing eating it away. It is just dieing and the tissue just comes off. Maybe it starved to death, maybe a problem with the water. It could be a number of things.]

[I would just keep an eye on it and feed it if you don't already. They really love mysis and cyclop-eeze!

My fungia ate a striped mushroom once and looked like it was a gonner. The mouth sank all the way in and skeleton began to show in several places, however, it recovered quite nicely without my help.]

[I feed mine shrimp, cyclopeze, brine, mysis, clam every time I see his tentacles extended. that is how i was told he was hungry. that pretty well goes with anything with tentacles]
