help, #%#@N zoo eating nudis

go ahead and slap me with a "noob" stamp if there is a previous thread on this i have overlooked, i am a bit careless at times. :D

i've just recently noticed these little demons crawling around in my tank, however its always one at a time and a week or so in between my sightings before i pull them and throw them in the garbage disposal for even thinking about looking the wrong way at my zoos. My real problem now is i've noticed a decline in my favorite eagle eye zoos, and i beleive these little punk slugs to be the culprit.

anyone kno a sure fire way to get rid of these guys? (other than a freshwater dip, the zoos are attatched to a rather large rock with some digitata frags)

any help, advise, links, are appreciated.

They are very hard to get rid of. You just have to do repeated iodine dips to get rid of them. Cause you may get some initially but they have eggs that aren't easily gotten rid of. They are very sticky and don't come off easy. Nor does the dips kill them.
I did however find that they dissappeared after getting a leopard wrasse in my tank.

I had a run in with them about a year ago and I did the dip with lugols iodine which worked very well. The only thing is you usually have to dip each colony of zoas at the same time and do it couple of times, making sure you pick off any visible egg casings after the dip. And as Chris said, they're very very sticky and can be a royal PITA. I can find the dip for them if you want it.

Use tweezers to get the egg casings off.. I know of nothing proven that gets rid of them in the tank.. have to pull em and dip. (What a pain, I know.)

thanks guys, i figured it would come down to the grueling task of systematicly searching and destroying each and every one of the nudis. I've started dips with the lugols solution and hand picking what i find out of my zoos. i do like the idea of a wrasse that eats them, my tank is roughly 40 gallons with a 20 gallon sump, any suggestions on a compatible species?

thanks,
M!ke

A tip:
When I have seen them in my tank I have used my turkey baster to suck the nudis off of the rock and zoos. Works very well and easy way to get them out.
