C clown Nov 15, 2009 #1 I was checking my magnesium with a salifert test kit. It read 450. Is that possible? What could make it so low? I tested twice and the kit is new. What should I do?

melev Club President Staff member Board of Directors Sponsor Nov 15, 2009 #2 I doubt it is that low. You need to double check the age of the kit (expiration date), the instructions more carefully, and mix up some new saltwater to test. That's a good way to double check a kit.

D DaveJ Nov 15, 2009 #3 Also post the Unit of Measure... some kits use different ones than others. If that's ppm, then I would double check your procedure and the kit itself.
