Help me pick the right tool

I have the go ahead to start my 140RR tank. It will go in the TV cabinet and I will cut out the floor of the cabinet and reinforce the top where the aquarium will sit. My first task is to cut out the bottom of the cabinet area so I can have the sump and support stand resting on the foundation. The bottom is made out of either 1/2" or 3/4" particle board.

Any suggestions for the type of saw that would do this the best. Or do you think that the bottom is just nailed in and I can drill some holes to weaken the board and start pounding it with a sledge hammer and pull pieces out.

Probably stapled in from the side. Use a reciprocating saw.

You can rent from Home Depot tool rental.

Do tell them you may need metal cutting blade as well as wood.
