Just wanted to say hi. This is a great community you have here. So much great information to read. Although im not new to the hobby, been running some sort of reef for about 20 years. Nothing as spectaclular as many of yours. I live in North Texas near wichita Falls....not many stores here. Not much to choose from species wise. Guess i need to come down to DFW area sometime and have a look. My current setup is only a 29 gallon reef with softies ,vho lighting, a remora hang on the back skimmer and no sump. I'm really interested in a larger tank around 100 gallons with a sump and better lighting. There's not much help or info in my area as how to go about hooking a sump up. I have read alot about it but, im still unclear as to how thats all done. The biggest tank i have had was a 140 gallon years ago ( a DAS setup). So im looking for some type of reef ready tank and all the help i can get....wished i lived a little closer :)

appoligize in advance for my poor typing skills

welcome to the board, glad to have ya. hope you end up getting a bigger tank, and if you have any questions just let us know. sumps are really easy, the key to making them so, is a reef ready tank. so if you do upgrade make sure you look for this. i had a non reef ready and hated messing with a sump. too bad you are 2 hours away because we are actually having a rpesentation on sumps and refugiums at our next meeting on the 14th in grapevine. we have many events scattered through out the year, so hopefully we will catch you at one some time. need to get here for those goodies at the LFS anyways right!?

Thanks for the Welcome. Yes, i really need to get down that way and checkout all the stores. The store here only offers hob filters or canisters and just regualr tanks no reef ready. Although im sure they could order, im really looking for a lfs that has some experince with sumps. I'm kind of looking for something in the 100-125gallon reef ready range. Can you reccomend any stores there to visit.

Welcome aboard.

Wes is right about sumps... they are very easy if your tank is reef ready. There is a lot of information about sumps at www.melevsreef.com.[/quote

Thankyou

Im looking for something along the lines of what your tagline says

Thanks for the info]

Great listing of stores in the DFW area can be found via the button on the top right corner of these forums. Find Your Local Fish Store I have limited experience still in the SW area of aquatics, but have found Dallas North Aquarium has a large selection of dry goods. May be a place to start off and find a tank design you like.

Good luck in your search and welcome! Hope to see you around more!
