Hawiian Feather Duster deserted its tube

Well I sort of wondered how long it would be... before it decided to move. At least I hope that's all it's doing. Between the jawfish grabbing its tube and digging under it all the time, and the hermits cilmbing on it and bending it all the way to the sand I guess it got tired of it. Earlier it was facing the other way and I couldn't see its body. I'm totally amazed at how these animals build and fix their tubes. The tube was had a small tear before and within a day it fixed it. So cool. I just hope nothing bothers it while it rebuilds a home.

i wonder if u can have 2 worms in one tube? i found something in my tank the other day that had a feather on it and had thought mine had died but next day it came out ?

Well this morning it moved upright and I guess has found its new home. But the weird thing is last night the old tube was open. This morning the old tube was partially closed and then just a while ago, completely closed. Hmmm, what's closing that tube if the feather duster moved out?

Well it didn't survive. During the night after the last picture half the worm part of the feather duster was gone and by yesterday only the feathers were left. Based on the pictures I thought it was doing well but either I was wrong or something decided to make a meal of it and the worm has no way to defend itself. The old tube appears to be collapsing.
