Hawaiian feather duster - Question

[Do they split like bta's because mine seems to be splitting. It used to be one big feather duster, and now it seems like there is two of them in one stalk.

I was wondering if they have asexual reproduction.]

[He might have just made another crown. Mine did that a couple of weeks ago. I would think if it reproduced, the new worm would have it's own tube and crown.]
