Hatching Brine Shrimp

I'm having some mixed results with Hatching Brine Shrimp. I have one of those nifty hatchery's with the 2 litter bottle upside down.

I tried the salt/eggs that came with the kit, and it hatched ok. I have some 90% hatch that I won, and I'm now keeping them in the fridge.

It says to keep the water at a certain temp. I have a small light for the bottle, but I'm not able to heat the water at all. Plus I don't want to melt the plastic. I'm using new saltwater, that I put into the tanks.

Do I need to use Water from the Aquarium?
Do I need to have a Regular Light Bulb, to give the water so heat transfer?

Also, your supposed to turn off and let it sit, and the Eggs are supposed to float to the top, and the Shrimp should go towards the light. But when I do this, most (80%) float at the top, but a number of the shrimp, stay at the top of the bottle, and don't move towards the light.

Do anyone else have a trick for this, is there something I'm missing?

Thanks.

you need a good batch of eggs, make sure they're not old (sit on the shelf too long)
we keep ours in the refrigerator.

It's really easy, we can hatch in pretty much any container... just use tank water, put only a little bit of eggs in, and put a bubbler (pretty strong bubbler to keep all the eggs suspended)

don't put too many eggs in at once, or it'll dirty the water too much and not all of them will hatch. I think we put only a couple pinches for a soda bottle full.

You can also try decapsulating the eggs with bleach. you can google it to see how to do that. it's pretty easy. You get better results by doing so.
