Hammer Coral splitting

New to this and still a little new to saltwater I bought a hammer coral yesterday with 4 heads but one was splitting so
5 heads, last night I noticed a small bubble on one of the heads n today in the morning
I noticed that it split does it take long to split? I'm excited I thought it was just a 4 head hammer but now it's 6
 
Wow congrats The ones I used to have took for ever to grow. If you get some and want to trade I would like some in my tank.
 
In my experience, a hammer will double the number of heads in about 6-8 months. I never paid attention to any one head and how long it took to split off though.
