[I am needing to replace my 175W halide bulbs. I found someone who has Coralife 10K's for sale. I have looked online but cannot find a picture of what the color in the tank will look like. I have also found these to be more expensive than any other bulb I could find. Because of the name? Is anyone running these or know if they resemble any other brand.]

[DNA had some on their clearance table the other night we were in there. Coralife is all I remember about them, 3 mths in age (I think it said) $20.]

[Another good source of bulbs that might be a little cheaper thsan local, is www.hellolights.com & www.championlighting.com. I have used both as well as Pet Supply Liquidator and I have had lots of good experiences with all three! Also do a search on Reef Central and possibly on The Reef Tank, there is a website in one of the lighting threads that has about 40 pick of various bulbs with and without actinic supplementation. Unfortunately I can find that link on my favorites anymore and it may be one of those I have lost since the last round og computer problems I have experienced lately. If you can find it its a good camparison of various 250 halide bulbs and should give simular results if used in 175 bulb applications, at least I have found this to be true with 400 watt lights.

I am not sure what exactly you are looking for but I am currently using the XM series bulbs from Hello Lights and I personally prefer them over the Ushios which cost a considerable amount more. In fact I will be using XM's when I set up the new 240 gallon Reef Tank I just ordered. I have found the XM's 10k to be "retna frying white" simular to an acr welder and the 20k in my opinion are much more like the European 14k's. Thats just my opinion though. I dont think there really is all that much difference in bulbs from one brand to the next as much as it is what suits you eye and appeases it. Just my .02 cents worth...
