Hair Algae overtaking Montipora

I've been battling hair algae for a quite a few months. I have managed to eliminate most all of it with combinatiin of manual removal, urchin, algon and heavy skimming. The only place I have it left is on my montipora coral. I had moved it closer to the surface to color back up but with that comes the hair algae accelerated growth. How can I win this battle?

I haven't tried granular ferrious oxide. I don't have a reactor but i do have room to stick a sock full in my cpr bakpak skimmer if you think that way would work.

I was successful with a huge GHA outbreak with a biopellet reactor and a few emerald crabs and good cleanup crew. It took 3-4 weeks, but then the clumps started coming off.

Currently my biopellet reactor is being borrowed by Lance, but he had the same issue and its working for him as well.

Payday I'm going to get more cleanup crew for my tank. My poor Atrista snails are covered with hair algae. They look like green pompoms on my glass. I figured out that cause, my fault. I was feeding little too much. I'm pretty sure its phosphates from the food.

GFO will help. Are you testing phosphate?
