GSP

The GSP in my tank seem to be receding (like how SPS RTN). Anybody else experience this? My water params are in acceptable ranges and other corals/fish seem healthy. It does look like one section of the purple tissue has a fungus on it, not sure if its related or what it is. I had the colony for about a year and a half with no major issues. I have water ready for a water change. Any ideas?

I would still lean to a water condition issue, but may not be a normal test kit parameter

can you test for nitrates or phosphates?

you could have gotten something in the water either directly or from the air (hairspray for example)

do you run carbon?
do you have other corals? if so, how are they doing?

I can test for nitrates and phoshpates, but have not.

I have other corals in the tank that are doing fine. LPS, Zoas, other softies including xenia which I figured would should signs of any foreign chemical before the GSP.

I am not running carbon now, but I will put some fresh carbon in.

I'd test the phosphates first, but it could be something else

and get that carbon running

xenia tends to be a better health indicator of water quality then GSP, but they like phosphates, I don't know if GSP does or doesn't. this is why I'm leaning toward phosphates more then the nitrates. If it was nitrates I would suspect the xenia to show signs also.

I wouldn't count out some sort of bacteria or some other GSP specifically related issue or predator. I just don't know of any.

good luck
