Ok,

So when I moved my big GSP colony to the top of the tank, it started overhanging onto another set of rock.

So, now, there is this unattached 1" x 2" piece of GSP just kind of dangling off the edge..

Can I just take a sharp razor-blade and cut this off to put on a small rock for a frag ?

Is this going to affect the mother colony if I cut off a small section that's not attached to the rock anyway ?

Use the razor, knife or what ever you want to cut the piece off before it gets out of hand. It will not hurt the mother colony. I reach in often and just tear off a piece for people that want it from my colony.

Like the other person said , you can cut it and put a very small drop of gel super glue on a live rock and place the Gsp on it. I messed with it a while back with different glue and epoxy bc I was bored at home to see what will polyp faster without stress. Gel worked the best. This also worked on Zoas and palys bu t hte key is right when you have the coral touching the clue you need to put it in the water asap so the heat from the glue doesn't damage the coral. Again I was bored to see what would happen and tested it.
