Green tip bubble anemone not looking right

2 days ago one of my power heads slid and covered my green tip nem with sand. He has since moved he looked ok yesterday but today not so good. I've been watching him over the past few hours but haven't seen much improvement.
All my levels are great, and everything else in the tank is doing good.
When do I know if I should remove him to save my tank? Is there anything I can do to help him or is this him pooping?

He really looks like he is pooping - which is understandable after the sand shower he got. Nems can be this way for hours while they eliminate waste. As long as his foot is firmly attached I would not worry.

If you start seeing rock in center of mouth you may have metals or copper, maybe even something else in the water.

Those are great to know to look out for. Thank you guys for your help. I'm happy to come home to "him" looking much better, closed mouth and all.

Glad it's doing better! I've got 4 Nems and they do some crazy stuff sometimes, but usually nothing to worry about :)

Mouth gaping open like that is a bad sign only if it stays that way. My Ritteri does it once in a while and because of research I had done I was panicking but it always goes back to normal after an hour or so. It's probably just adjusting to changes in water quality, lighting, current etc. or it could be trying to clone itself. Who knows? It's nothing to worry about unless it stays that way and it's tissue starts thinning; that's a definite bad sign. My RBTA did that before it died but it started moving around, hiding in caves and and losing it's stickiness first.

I woke up today and checked on the tank. He moved again and not looking very normal. He went into a cave for about 3 days, so I couldn't see him very well during that time. He makes me a nervous reck. His color is looking kind of bleached and his and most of his bubbles look pinched. On the other side of the tank I have a rainbow and carpet nem that is doing well, should I pull him and cut the losses? If so what is the best way to euthanize a nem?

I'm sure I'm over reacting because I've heard a horror story of a entire tank being killed because the nem died. I just target fed him and he took it in normal. I'm just not use to seeing them trying to hide in the dark so much. Please tell me if I'm jumping to the worst when it really nothing? Haha

It's been about a month and a half. About to retest levels, it was all goldilocks a few days ago. I did add some coral vite, essential elements, and microvert yesterday

I'm being frank with you ... you shouldn't have nems in a tank that's only been established a month and a half. You may think your parameters are on point, but various swings in them can cause the nems to be unhappy.

I always recommend to people 9 months to a year minimum without issues before introducing nems.

I should add that it's a tank move, not a fresh startup. It's years old before the move.

I've lost a bubble tip before and it didn't kill anything. I think that's probably just a myth cause everyone I know who has also lost nems has said the same thing so give him a chance. He may recover. :)

dont over feed him it will just irritate it more. KThomas is right though it is a little to early to be putting a nem in the tank. If it survives great but try not to add anymore livestock for awhile till your tank is more established even if its an old tank that just moved. you can still have small cycles so i would keep and eye on that. YMMV
