green slime?

okay i have been thru diatom bloom, red slime, and now green slime? is this part of the cycle because its really pissing me off. is it because of my rodi not working right?

How long has your tank been setup? Do you know what the parameters are? Nitrates, Phosphates, Alkalinity, Calcium and SP? It is normal to have some algae breakouts when a tank is new and is going through it's cycles. Also do you have a TDS meter to measure the dissolved solids coming out of your RO/DI filter? It should read 0.00 but not more than 1 or 2 at the most.

the tank is setup for about 1 1/2 months and tds meter read 0.01. all my test is stable the last time i check. how long is the cycle usually?

If the ammonia and nitrites are reading 0.0 or no trace and the nitrates are less <5 the cycle is complete. There one more thing to consider however and that is it takes a new reef tank up to 6 to 9 months to reach full maturity.

What type of filtering are you using? A sump with Protein Skimmer, Macro algae etc. Also do you have Live Rock in your tank?

The key when setting up a new tank is patience, it takes time.

New tanks go through algae phases. Sounds like you are dealing with the normal stuff seen in the first few months. As it ages and matures, and as you get a better understanding of your tank's needs (and mature with it), you'll see this fade away.

How long do your lights run? Is there any livestock?

i did a tank moved and i guess my tank just recycle but yea my tank is a 120 with maybe 150# of liverock, lots of fish and soft corals. they seem to be doing fine. my filteration is a 40 gallon sump with cheato in the sump, running a euroreef rs180 skimmer
