green bubble tip

I got a green bubble tip and i have had it for like 2 months, when i first got it it was green and had big bubbles on it now there are no bubbles it just looks stringy an it is like a white with green tips is that normal or is it a prob?

Bubble tips usually lose their bubbles in captivity. Mine lost it's bubbles when I got it 7 years ago, and just started "Bubbling" again about a month ago...

As far as the stringy look, I don't know that I'd call a healthy BTA "Stringy"... Are you feeding it well/will it eat?

But, as far as losing the bubble tips goes, don't sweat that part at least... :)

Well, losing the bubbles isn't a problem- they don't know why some BTAs don't 'bubble'. Losing color usually isn't a good sign, though.

Has the color changed recently, or gradually? What are your water parameters?

What size tank and what kind of lights are you keeping it under? Are you target feeding it? If so, how's its feeding response?

I've been lucky.. part of the time mine still has bubbles. (even after it split... yep proud papa of 2 nice sized gbta's)

I feed mine 2 times a week... sometimes Krill, silversides, ect... prefer to mix it up a bit)
