Green BTA - will it hurt corals?

I just picked up a few frags (candy cane, frogspawn, zoa's, etc ) and have a few other softies and LPS in the tank. I am supposed to get a Green BTA from another member here but am a little worried that It will travel around the tank killing things. Are they poisonous enough to harm other things? I should mention my tank is a bit in disarray right now. I have half the rock cooking to get rid of an algae outbreak. I am switching it out with the other half next week. I do have a tomato clown and a false perc that would probably enjoy the BTA but I don't want to risk the corals too much.

If it does wander your tank, it will most likely sting / maybe even kill other things in your tank. Are you getting the rock that the anemone is attached to as well? That would be good, if you have the appropriate lighting to keep it happy.

It will travel around in your tank until it finds a favorite spot. I have a GBTA & RBTA with alot of Lps. I just try to give them alot of room. Just keep an eye on it until it finds what it's looking for then you should be fine.

you dont even want to know what happens if he gets into some sps...
But...It just so happens I have a little clone that's moved right into some zoos and all seems to be well???...im watching to see, but it does look cool. Im sure ill have to move him.

here is a trick that has worked for us, we set up a pillar of seperate rock away from the main structure
ours tend to stay on the pillar we have two in our reef and they have never left the pillart to get on the main structure they dont seem to want to wonder across the sand

thanks for the replies! If I understand right, The BTa travels across the rocks and sand rather than just floating all crazy like around the tank stinging everything it touches? So I might have a little time to watch him and see where he's headed?

No, sometimes they just completely detach and float around looking for a new home. Depends on how dissatisfied he is with his current home. An anemone that floats around can also be the sign of a sick one.. not always, but frequently.
